for almost 18 months now and have loved owning it. It is in fantastic condition, it`s surely one of the best examples available. The interior is absolutely superb with all seats and carpets in excellent condition. The origianl Blaupunkt Radio Cassette is still present and working great, how many stereo`s work after 25 years these days? The exterior is again fantastic and shows no signs of ever being painted, with the paintwork still shining brightly. There isn`t even any car park dings from what I can see! The car also has very, very little rust, nothing really worth mentioning on the exterior and my mechanic also assures me that the underside is also very solid. There is a slight patch of rust in the boot spare wheel well hidden underneath the boot carpet which is common on these cars. It is cosmetic only and is cheap to repair, I was quoted £70 by a reputable body shop but didn`t get round to doing it. The drive reallly is fantastic, like many owner`s mention it really does put some new cars to shame. It has no bumping or knocking noises and the engine pulls great with no smoke from startup. It has never over heated and only uses a small amount of oil, as expected for a car of this vintage. From what I can see it still has it`s original radiator which is showing some signs of wear and this was going to be my next job, however it still has plenty of life left in it and the car has never even been close to over heating, including a 1000 mile trip to Le Mans! The car comes with a pile of receipts going back to the pre-delivery inspection it had prior to being delivered to it`s new owner. The car has a full service history and had it`s clutch replaced in 2002 at 81,262 miles. I have also kept it fully serviced with a local garage and during my ownership have replaced the Water pump, rear and centre exhaust sections, fuel pump and all major servicing items. The cambelt was changed by the previous owner at 91,564 miles and my mechanic checked it after I purchased it and confirmed it was unworn and newly installed. I had the gearbox oil changed at 99.717 miles and the gear changes are smooth and faultless. All tyres have plenty of tread left with the front tyres being fitted in October, 2011. This car really is a reliable, fun classic which you can use everyday, as I have, driving the 6 miles to work and back and all for the fraction of the buying price of a similar condition MK1 Golf GTI, and to be honest these are a lot rarer! This car is completely standard, unmollested and has always gained admirers everywhere it goes. I`ll be sorry to see it go, but as a car fanatic, I`m always looking to experience new cars and can`t afford to keep them all, shame. I drove the 1000 odd miles to and from the Le Mans 24 hour in 2011 and the Audi didn`t miss a beat, including the winning Le Mans Audi! The main picture was taken at Le Mans! It has brand new hydralic tappets i have fitted (engine now sounds lovely) new cambelt and distributor, reconditioned gearbox fitted also. also i have sorted all the brakes with new pads all round, I have replaced the original airbox with a cone filter as i think this 5 cylinder engine sounds 10x better with one(i have the original if req), the body work is very good with no rust anywhere and the paint is suprisingly good for a 21 year old car, the only bad points are there is no stereo currently fitted and the drivers side window does not work, new regulator need, also there is a faily excessive bit of wear on the front drivers seat with a hole in the cloth. apart from that this car is solid. engine bay is clean. i am selling this car as i cannot afford to run two cars and i am hoping to work abroad soon so there will be no use for it, i would rather see it go to someone who is going to enjoy it rather than have it sit in my driveway. ther are only 29 of these cars left on uk roads so hurry and grab yourself a future classic, also classic car insurance so very cheap ;) | Part Exchange: volvo s60 t5? | X | £510.00  | |||||||

falling off. Front windows drivers side needs the small plastic wheels replacing. (broken in bits) for the wire to run on. Motor fine. Nearside may just be dry joints on connections, still works intermittently. Engine good 117k miles shows 3bar+ on hot tickover, top of gauge when running above tickover. Gearbox good, Lights and lenses good, 4 good tyres Exhaust new from cat recently, Computer warning system working, all gauges working. THIS CAR WITH THE INTENTION OF GETTING IT BACK INTO PRISTINE CONDITION. HOWEVER WORK AND FAMILY COMMITMENTS HAVE MEANT THAT IT HAS NEVER HAD THE ATTENTION I HAD WANTED TO GIVE IT. HOWEVER I DID SPEND A BIT OF MONEY AND TIME GETTING THE CAR LOOKING PRETTY GOOD AND MECHANICALLY SOUND. IT IS A STANDARD CAR AND WAS MOTD AND TAXED AT THE END OF NOVEMBER. SINCE BEING MOTD IT HAS BEEN PARKED UP IN THE GARAGE AND HAS NEVER MOVED UNTIL TODAY AS I TOOK IT A DRIVE ROUND THE BLOCK. THE CAR DRIVES GREAT, GEARBOX, CLUTCH, SUSPENSION ETC IS SPOT ON. SOUNDS AMAZING AND CERTAINLY TURNS A FEW HEADS. I HAD IT INSPECTED AT EDINBURGH AUDI AT THE END OF NOVEMBER AND IT PASSED WITH FLYING COLOURS (INVOICE TO PROVE). THE CAR IS SOLID UNDERNEATH HOWEVER THE BODYWORK IS NOT PERFECT. THERE WERE TWO SMALL AREAS OF RUST ON BOTH REAR QUARTERS AND AT THE CORNER OF THE BONNET. THEY HAVE BEEN PREPARED TO PAINT BUT NEVER GOT ROUND TO DOING IT. THERE IS ALSO A SMALL DING ON THE WING AND THE PAINT IS STARTING TO FLAKE ON THE BONNET AND THE ROOF. VIEW ALL THE PICTURES AS THEY SHOW THE DING ALONG WITH THE SMALL AREAS THAT HAVE BEEN PREPARED TO PAINT. THE FRONT LIGHT SURROUND HAS STARTED TO DARKEN SLIGHTLY (VERY COMMON) 5 MIN JOB TO FIX IT. IT LOOKS LIKE THE BOTTON OF ONE OF THE REAR ARCHES HAS STARTED TO RUST BUT IT HASNT, IT IS JUST THE ARCH/SILL PROTECTOR HAS STARTED TO LOOSE ITS PAINT. THE DRIVERS SEAT IS TORN ON THE RIGHT HAND BOLSTER AND THERE ARE A FEW OTHER STONE CHIPS ON THE BONNET ETC AS PROBABLY EXPECTED FOR A CAR OF ITS AGE (NOTHING TOO BAD THO) ALL ALLOYS ARE IN GOOD CONDITION AND THERE ARE FIVE OF THEM. NO SERVICE HISTORY ALTHOUGH ALL THE MANUALS ARE THERE ALONG WITH 4 KEYS. TYRES ARE ALL REALLY GOOD AND THE STANDARD BLAUPUNKT RADIO WORKS!! IT DOES HAVE A SUNROOF ALTHOUGH THE HANDLE NEEDS PUT BACK ON. ALL ELECTRIC WINDOWS WORK FINE. I HAVE DESCRIBED THE CAR AS HONESTLY AS I CAN. I AM SURE SOME GUYS WOULD DESCRIBE IT AS BEING IN VERY GOOD CONDITION BUT I SUPPOSE IT DEPENDS ON YOUR INTERPRETATION OF VERY GOOD. FOR THE AGE THE CAR IT IS DECENT, FAR FROM A SHOWROOM WINNER BUT IF SOMEONE IS WILLING TO SPEND A LITTLE BIT OF MONEY AND TIME ON IT THEN IT COULD BE (MINTED). WILL BE DISSAPOINTED TO SEE HER GO BUT NEEDS MUST. AN OPPURTUNITY HERE FOR SOMEONE TO GET THERE HAND HANDS ON A DECENT RARE 2.2 GT WHICH IS MECHANICALLY SOUND. TEST DRIVES AND VIEWERS ARE MORE THAN WELCOME BUT PLEASE NO TIMEWASTERS. REG DOC, MOT, FULL HPI PRESENT. LOCATED 5 MINS FROM LOCAL TRAIN STATION AND 15 MINS FROM EDINBURGH AIRPORT.
