due to new delivery of company car. I have owned the car since June 2011 and bought it because we where having a baby in July so needed a bigger car. It has hardley been used as my wife finds it too big. The car runs and drives lovely and has been well looked after by the previous company owner and me. No knocks or noises, it has been used for motorway miles but the outside and interior do not reflect this! Viewing of the car is essential to see how good it is.Listed below are the main features and other information that maybe helpful:I have fitted 4 tyres to the car since I bought it,Front Tyres Continental and both have 6mmRear Tyres Continental and where only fitted a few months ago and have 6+mmNew windscreen fitted in July 2011Front Brake pads fitted just after ChristmasService Print from lease company (including collection condition form)All service and owners booksFull service history from Audi to 115,181 2007-18,626 2008 - 37,893 2008 - 56,884 2009 - 95,577 2010 - 115,181 2011 - 126,921 (local main dealer Garage)The service report shows that the gearbox has been fully serviced at 115,181 and that the Camshaft drive belt and tensioner was changed at 75,710 both done by Audi Teeside.Bury handsfree kit that works through the radio (Blackberry Cradle)Boot LinerAudi Cargo NetThe Auto gearbox is a DSG box that has two clutches and makes the gear changes very smooth. The only fault with the car is the rear window wipe it would not stop so I have removed the motor and have not got round to fixing it! Apparently it is a common fault according to the forums. Not expensive and easy to do.The private plate is not included and was removed last Friday so I am awaiting the new V5 which will be with me this week. I have a receipt to prove this. Auto Express Car Reviews Text: Owen Mildenhall / Photos: Pete GibsonOctober 2007 Rating: We were impressed by the 1.8-litre turbocharged petrol version driven in Issue 982. But how does the model rate in 2.0 TDI diesel guise?Audi expects this variant to be the biggest seller in the range. The longitudinally mounted direct-injection diesel produces 141bhp – up 3bhp on the old car – while torque is unchanged at 320Nm. And the unit is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. Crucially for company buyers, CO2 emissions are down from 159g/km to 144g/km, which means the A4 has dropped three tax brackets. Initially, the car will be available only in SE spec, although other trims will join the line-up throughout 2008. On the road, the oil-burner delivers strong performance and decent in-gear punch. Both engine and road noise are quieter than in the old A4, and the Audi is better to drive, too, with excellent composure in corners and impressive levels of grip. Steering is accurate and fluid, while the supple suspension does a fine job of absorbing bumps and imperfections. For owners who want a more focused driving experience, the A4 is also available with the optional Drive Select system. This allows you to optimise the power-steering assistance, sharpen throttle response and adjust the dampers to suit your tastes. Yet even without it, the six-speed gearbox offers a solid action, and while the A4 still lacks the driver involvement of the 3-Series, it’s more capable than its predecessor. The combination of tidy handling, excellent refinement and decent performance makes the new model a strong all-round dynamic package. It’s also the biggest car in its segment. The A4’s longer wheelbase frees up more space for passengers in the back seats, while the larger 480-litre boot now tops the class. As we’ve come to expect from Audi, the fit and finish of the interior is first-rate. It has a great blend of understated luxury, classy materials and robust build quality. The dash design is identical to that found in the A5 coupé, and the firm’s MMI central control interface – complete with a colour screen – is seen in the A4 for the first time. It’s standard across the range, and uses a combination of a rotary knob and separate switches to operate the audio and climate systems, in addition to the optional sat-nav and phone.Deliveries of the A4 won’t begin until next March, but the new car is available to order at dealerships now. This 2.0 TDI SE is competitively priced and comes generously equipped, too. As ever, there is an extensive options list available, while a more powerful diesel version with around 170bhp will go on sale later next year.Rival: BMW 320d SEThe 3-Series is a fleet favourite, thanks to its classy image and strong 2.0-litre diesel. However, it’s neither as spacious nor as well equipped as the new Audi. The understated looks have a sharper edge, while the interior build quality is hard to fault. It’s also roomier inside than its predecessor, and while the 2.0 TDI doesn’t come with the quattro four-wheel drive and hi-tech gizmos of more expensive models, it’s no less desirable. With a blend of image, quality, refinement and comfort, the Audi is a serious contender in the compact executive market. The ride is excellent, acceleration and handling too. I speak to a lot of owners who say the same. Really economical and smooth on motorway and sticks to the road on high speeds. Excellent handling on normal roads too. Not all are the same. Many dealers are now part of bigger groups like Sytner or Stratstone. These tend to be less private customer focussed. The body coloured bumpers on the 2004 A4 are a poor colour match. My Moro blue car bumpers are a lighter shade particularly in the sunlight. The 51-03 cars with a grey bottom section were a better colour match. Perhaps it was a poor colour matching process on the run out year before the face lift models emerged. Report this review What ever I say, the Audi A4 TDi is an excellent car to drive. It feels agile, accelerates well even at speed in 6th gear, it holds the road beyond my nerve, and controls the grip and braking through systems I trust even if I don't understand how they do it. I drive the 2 litre TDI Euro IV, and with a lot of hard driving both motorway at speed and round town stop start I get 50 miles to the gallon. It does 600 miles to a tank and with cruise control and carefull driving would do much better. ... First it was the ignition coils - one failed, it was replaced, and my Audi service reps sent me back out on the streets, knowing that other coils would undoubtedly fail. Of course, another one did, just weeks after the first one. During each of these episodes, the car continued to run but very roughly. This winter, m ... It will not regulate the cabin temperature and when in Auto mode at speed makes a noise comparable with a Jet engine on take off. Audi cannot resolve this problem and I have been fobbed off for months being told to 'live with it' until they find a fix. I'm currently taking legal action to reject the vehicle and recover costs. The version launched in 2000 was the second generation of the A4 which refined the original formula of a well-built, attractive saloon, but added more interior space and was more comfortable and fun to drive. The Audi A4 is available as an estate – the A4 Avant – and a convertible, which was known as the A4 Cabriolet. Additionally two performance models were available, the Audi S4 and the Audi RS4 Avant which offered the practicality of an estate car, with the performance of a sports car. Price range: £3,000 – £9,000 Pros Cons Who’s it good for? Transmission oil must be changed as per the manufacturer’s recommendations as they can be £2,000 to fix • A stiff brake pedal could mean a failed brake servo (which provides power assistance for stopping), caused, bizarrely, by blocked rain channels.
