The transmission will be used by up to 70% of Audis sold in the US. The 2.0 liter A4 sedan and wagon, 2.0 liter A5 coupe and cabriolet, 2.0 liter Q5, the entire range of the Q7 lineup, in addition to both the A8 and A8L models that are fitted with the 4.2 liter V8, are the models that will be offered with the 8-speed. Models like the 2.0 liter A3 will feature either the dual-clutch transmission or the snappy 6-speed gearbox. The dual-clutch will be maintained by the 2.0 liter TT, while continuously variable transmission will be used by the front wheel drive 2.0 liter A4s and A5 cabriolet. The V8 S5 will be offered with either a Tiptronic or a six-speed manual, while the 3.0 liter S4 will get either the dual-clutch or the 6-speed manual. The S5 cabriolet is going to receive the dual-clutch unit. The A6 models will get either the CVT or Tipronic. The S6 and the 3.2 liter Q5 will possibly getting Tipronic. The V8 and V10, R8 models will be offered with either the sequential R-tronic or the company’s 6-speed manual. The S5 coupé currently retains a 4.2 litre Fuel Stratified Injection (FSI) V8 engine[1] that produces 354 hp (264 kW), while the S5 Cabriolet shares with the Audi S4 a supercharged 3.0 litre TFSI V6 petrol engine producing 330 HP. The Audi S5, in comparison to the A5, features a more aggressive fascia (as do most Audi S and RS models), including a string of LED daytime running lights around the bi-Xenon headlamps and a vertically striped chrome grille. In many markets, the S5 includes as standard, 19" alloy wheels with a five-parallel spoke design, bigger brakes, heated leather sport seats, and other convenience features, some of which are available only as an option on the A5. The S5 Sportback is expected to go on sale in the spring of 2010 with a MSRP of €57,900.[15] [edit] Audi RS5 2010 Audi RS5 The RS5 features a new 4.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 with 444 bhp (331 kW; 450 PS) and 317 lb·ft (430 N·m) of torque. The engine is a re-worked version of the old RS4/R8 V8, which is closely related to the V10 in the R8. The engine produces 450 hp (336 kW) which is a different figure from the aforementioned 444 bhp (331 kW; 450 PS) On 20 February 2010 a series of images from an RS5 sales brochure were leaked on the internet.[16] The RS5 was officially released at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show in March.[17] [edit] Aluminium A5 Coupe (2009) The Aluminum A5 coupe is a prototype vehicle demonstrating the benefits of the aluminium Audi Space Frame (ASF) concept. It is based on Audi A5 Coupe 2.0 TFSI with 211PS engine, but it uses the aluminium Audi Space Frame, aluminium and carbon fibre-reinforced plastics body. Punch riveting, bonding or laser-MIG hybrid welding replaced spot welding. The vehicle is 110 kg lighter than the equivalent steel-bodied production model.
